Summer Price

My name is Summer Frances Price C.M.T.  I graduated from Dove Star Holistic School for Practioners, in February 2002. I went to school in Plymouth, Ma. close to my home of Cape Cod.  In school I was most drawn to Deep tissue massage, Neuromuscular, Shiatsu, hot stone and Acupressure classes.  My school opened in the sixties and has its roots in energy work such as reiki, chakra work and hypnotism.  Although some classes were mandatory I tried to keep away from anything that in my mind seemed mystical.
Fortunately there were alot of energy work classes that came from the east and were more palatable to me, such as Chi Kung.  At the time of graduation from a five hundred hour program, I had dabbled in many modalities. Although at the time I considered the founders of my school to be mystical to a fault; I have grown to be forever grateful to them.  I graduated as a "Kriya" practioner.  Kriya is a sanskrit word that means dance, flow. I consider massage to be a form of art. I now have six hundred hours toward a 1000 hour Kriya program. My current and upcoming studies include reflexology, Ayurveda, and nutrition and fitness.  After working eight years in this field I am ready to devote myself to the continuation of my study. I am working on a customized page with a more detailed description of the history of Able Body business now on its 15th year!  I reside in Dummerston with my husband Benjamin and my daughter Eliza. We are very blessed!!!  Update: on Jan 9th I took the National exam for massage therapy and passed.  I waited many years after getting out of school which I do not recommend.  It is not required in the state of Vermont but is required in 35 other states.  It is a formidable exam and a worthwhile creditial to have.  Thanks for visiting this site.  You can email me at ablebodywellness@gmail.com

Marybeth is known for helping her clients to "befriend their body."    She has a deep trust and belief in the body's infinite wisdom and ability to heal.

She started her journey in the field of mind-body healing
when she moved to Vermont in 2001. Having already completed a BA in Clinical Psychology, she was introduced to Rubenfeld Synergy through a serendipitous encounter with a local practitioner of the method. After her own experience with this work, Marybeth immediately noticed the benefits of this kind of gentle and safe self-exploration and its subsequent positive effect in her life. In 2003, she began a 4-year, 1608-hour intensive training program and became a Certified Rubenfeld Synergist in the Winter of 2007.  Marybeth is currently involved in a teacher-training to become a Certified Rubenfeld Synergy Mentor.

Valuing the importance of the unique experience of all individuals, Marybeth enjoys the process of guiding her clients to learn what they have "stored" in their body and supporting them to find space to live a fulfilling life. In her free time, Marybeth enjoys a regular yoga practice, the great outdoors, music, and the arts.
